Suede was our first sable champion, owner-handled, and he has fulfilled our dreams for a show dog, a sire and a friend. Suede, in limited use, has two US Champions, several Canadian Champions and more with points in both countries.
Suede is the result of several generations of breedings to combine the elegant good moving Sea Isle lines of the west coast with the coaty sweet faces of the Sea Isle lines on the East Coast. His head has not broadened or coarsened with age (Suede was 10 on December 26, 2001).
Suede was shown quite a bit in Canada as a young adult after finishing his Canadian Championship and before he was mature enough to be shown in the US. He won a number of group firsts and other group placements and was Group 3 at the prestigious Maritime Spectacular (open to dogs who have won BIS or Group One's the preceding year, the year Suede was shown there were 26 dogs in the Herding Group).
